The Buyer Specialist is responsible for executing the end-to-end procurement process from sourcing through purchase order issuance while ensuring commercial competitiveness, technical compliance, and timely procurement of goods and services to support operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs and RFIs in accordance with procurement procedures.
- Source qualified suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
- Evaluate supplier quotations based on technical and commercial criteria.
- Coordinate technical clarifications with internal stakeholders.
- Support supplier negotiations to achieve best value.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders.
- Maintain supplier communications throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Monitor procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain procurement records and documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and client requirements.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier performance improvement.
- Assist with urgent procurement requirements during periods of increased operational demand.
Must Have
- Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent.
- CIPS qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years procurement or purchasing experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Experience using ERP procurement systems.
- Oil & Gas or industrial procurement experience preferred.
