El Dorado Offshore is seeking experienced Offshore Crane Operators to support the client's offshore operations in Guyana. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of offshore cranes, ensuring all lifting activities are conducted in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and offshore safety standards.
 
The ideal candidate must have proven offshore crane operating experience and hold a valid Offshore Crane Operator Stage 3 Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate offshore pedestal cranes for lifting and material handling operations.
  • Perform lifting operations in accordance with approved lifting plans, procedures, and offshore safety requirements.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and ensure crane equipment is maintained in safe operating condition.
  • Complete crane operational checks and report any defects, abnormalities, or maintenance requirements.
  • Assist with cargo handling, loading, and unloading operations between offshore facilities, supply vessels, and work areas.
  • Execute lifting operations while maintaining clear communication with banksmen, riggers, and deck crew.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore lifting standards, company procedures, and client requirements.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and job safety analysis (JSA) discussions.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, including crane logs and inspection documentation.
  • Stop work and immediately report unsafe conditions or lifting concerns.
    Support emergency response activities when required.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards.

Must Have

  • Valid Offshore Crane Operator Stage 3 Certification (Mandatory).
  • Valid offshore medical certification.
  • Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET / FOET / equivalent).
  • Valid OPITO or internationally recognized offshore safety certifications preferred.
  • Valid lifting-related certifications (Banksman/Slinger or Rigger certification preferred).
  • Valid passport and ability to travel offshore. 
  • Minimum 3+ years offshore crane operating experience preferred.
  • Proven experience operating offshore pedestal cranes.
  • Experience working on:
    - Offshore drilling rigs
    - FPSO vessels
    - Production platforms
    - Offshore construction vessels
    - Support vessels
  • Demonstrated experience performing:
    - Personnel lifting operations (where authorized).
    - Cargo handling operations
    - Supply vessel lifts
    - Heavy and critical lifting activities

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of offshore lifting operations and crane safety practices.
  • Ability to interpret lifting plans and follow approved procedures.
  • Understanding of crane limitations, load charts, and operational controls.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with offshore teams.
  • Strong safety awareness and hazard identification skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under offshore conditions and within a multicultural crew environment.
