A Fabricator and Pipefitter Trainer delivers hands on instruction in cutting, shaping, and joining metal pipes and structures, leading safety training, demonstrating welding and fitting techniques, and testing students on industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive safety instruction covering the rules and best practices for working on heavy industrial sites.
- Teach students how to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
- Provide hands on guidance in cutting, bending, and fitting steel pipe to industry standards.
- Supervise practical workshop exercises and correct technique on the spot through immediate, constructive feedback.
- Design and administer written and practical assessments to evaluate student learning and competency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training workshop; oversee tool care and housekeeping in line with safety standards.
Must Have
- High school diploma or equivalent trade school certification.
- Minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 2 years in jumper fabrication.
- Valid safety cards (e.g., HSE/OSHA) and/or recognized teaching or training certificates.
- In depth, practical knowledge of pipefitting and metal fabrication.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and apply trade mathematics with accuracy.
- Proven, consolidated experience in subsea products, specifically pipeline jumpers.
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills, with the confidence to lead a class.
