The Sales Engineer – Guyana & Suriname Business Development will support the growth and expansion of El Dorado Offshore's international ventures by strengthening client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and serving as the critical link between customers and internal operational teams.
The role is responsible for identifying market opportunities, engaging prospective and existing customers, supporting business development initiatives, and ensuring seamless communication between clients, recruitment, operations, and project teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
The successful candidate will combine commercial acumen, relationship management skills, and operational understanding to drive revenue growth while ensuring customer expectations are effectively translated into actionable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales Growth:
Support the Business Development Manager – International Ventures in expanding the company's presence across Guyana and Suriname.
Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within target industries and customer segments.
Generate a minimum of five (5) qualified new business leads per month.
Conduct market intelligence to identify projects, tenders, customer needs, and industry trends.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers and opportunities.
Support the preparation of proposals, bids, tenders, presentations, and client submissions.
Participate in customer meetings, networking events, and stakeholder engagements. - Customer Relationship Management & Account Growth:
Serve as the primary relationship contact for assigned customers.
Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Conduct monthly customer review meetings.
Capture customer feedback and coordinate follow-up actions.
Identify opportunities for account growth and additional services. - Customer-to-Operations Integration:
Act as the communication bridge between customers and Operations, Recruitment, Projects, and Administration.
Ensure customer requirements are communicated internally.
Coordinate recruitment and workforce deployment requirements.
Monitor customer action items and ensure timely execution.
Partner with operations teams to resolve service delivery challenges. - Customer Experience & Continuous Improvement:
Champion a customer-centric culture.
Monitor customer satisfaction indicators.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Escalate customer risks and service concerns when required. - Reporting & Internal Collaboration:
Maintain accurate sales pipeline and customer activity reports.
Submit KPI reports and business development updates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, customer success, or technical sales.
- Experience within the energy, oil & gas, manpower supply, logistics, maritime, industrial services, or related sectors is preferred.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales processes, proposal development, and client relationship management.
- Experience working with customers across Guyana and/or Suriname is highly desirable.
