The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging the external communication on the rig and is responsible for maintaining the radio and telecommunications equipment. He will be required to monitor and log positions of ships and helicopters visiting the rig and keeps communication with supply and stand by vessels. In addition to watching radio traffic, including traffic on the emergency frequency, he will be required to monitor the fire and gas detection systems onboard and assist the OIM with administrative work, and provides the daily weather forecast.

The successful candidate must also possess the following:

  • Valid TBOSIET/ BOSIET/ TFOET certificate

  • Valid Advanced Fire Fighting certificate

  • Confined Space Entry

  • GMDSS certificate

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Radio Operator offshore
