Electrical Technical Officer (E.T.O)

Georgetown, Guyana

 

The position is primarily carried out offshore, aboard vessels and involves transferring from vessel to vessel. The successful candidate will be required to maintain all types of electronics, communication, and navigation equipment. Reports will be made directly to the Area Technical Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§  Work and coordinate with CE and the master on board for the repairs and maintenance require for any electrical/Electronic equipment.

§  Troubleshoot and take the necessary action to rectify the fault and write a report to the Superintendent the ship assigned to.

§  Identify the spares that may require solving the problem and coordinating with CE to place the order.

§  Conduct an inspection to the Vessel critical equipment and carry out preventive maintenance as require.

§  Liaise with CE on board for maintaining Ship electrical and electronics systems as described in Ship MPM.

§  Report weekly to the base Superintendent all works and activities with recommendation or action that may require taking to repair or prevent faults.

§  Maintain standard ship inventory for the spares that Vessel may require to carry for the critical systems such as navigation, communication and DP systems and follow up with Superintendent to ensure delivery.

§  Communicate with the makers support services for online assistance when require solving the problem and to avoid down time, log and keep report.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

§  E.T.O License

§  E.T.O endorsement

§  STCW and Security Awareness

§  Seaman’s discharge book

§  Yellow Fever Card

§  Valid passport

§  Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar field.
