As a  Galley Hand on the Rig, your role is essential to the efficient and smooth operation of the galley and dining area during the day shift. You will work closely with the  Cook to ensure that crew members receive well-prepared meals in a clean and organized environment. 

Responsibilities

Assist in Meal Preparation: Support the  Cook in meal preparation, including chopping, cutting, and assisting with cooking tasks. Ensure that ingredients are readily available during the day shift.

Cleanliness and Organization:

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the galley and dining area during the day shift. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Assist in maintaining a sanitary and orderly workspace.

  •  cutting, trimming, and portioning meat according to specific requirements. This involves understanding different cuts of meat and how to prepare them for cooking or further processing.

  • Ensuring the quality and freshness of meat products is crucial. Butchers inspect meat for freshness, proper color, texture, and marbling, and they discard any meat that doesn't meet quality standards.



    Requirements
    Previous experience as a Galley Hand or similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
    Willingness to learn and assist with meal preparation and galley operations.
    Strong organizational and cleanliness skills.
    Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
    Adaptability to changing schedules and tasks during the day shift.
    Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
    Galley Equipment Training
    Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Certification
    Rig-Specific Training as per clients’ requests.
    Offshore Medical Examination.
