Geophysical Quality Control Representative (Level 3)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Geophysical Quality Control (QC) Representative to provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for geophysical vendor field operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive geophysical acquisition knowledge, strong safety and compliance awareness, and proven ability to manage complex operations while ensuring the highest technical standards.

Main Functions

  • Oversee and guide QC teams managing vendor field operations.

  • Ensure compliance with geophysical acquisition techniques, seismic equipment operations, positioning, reporting requirements, and Company OIMS (Operations Integrity Management System) procedures.

  • Demonstrate effective communication, interface management, auditing, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all Level 1 & 2 tasks and responsibilities.

  • Oversee site investigations including seismic surveys, sub-bottom profiler, multibeam echosounder, and side-scan sonar surveys.

  • Ensure proper sampling and preservation of water column and sediment samples for environmental, geochemical, and geotechnical purposes.

  • Supervise controlled amplitude and phase processing of geophysical data.

  • Apply the latest geophysical processing techniques (broadband, reconstruction, noise attenuation).

  • Ensure compliance with data delivery and reporting standards.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geotechnical, or related field.

  • Minimum 20 years geophysical field experience; prior ExxonMobil field experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership and advisory skills across SSH&E, logistics, operations, equipment, and positioning.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to foster trust, accountability, and teamwork.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and modern communication technologies.

  • Physically fit and compliant with offshore health, safety, and certification requirements.

  • All certifications must be current and valid for the project duration.
