We’re seeking a dynamic and people-focused HR leader to take charge of our Human Resources Department in Guyana. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all HR operations, lead and mentor a high-performing team—including Recruitment Specialists—while driving strategic initiatives that shape our company culture, enhance employee engagement, and ensure service excellence for our clients. If you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or a related field (MBA an asset), have at least eight years’ progressive HR experience with a minimum of five years in a supervisory or managerial role, and possess exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the HR Department, ensuring all client requests are addressed promptly and effectively by the team.
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and SOPs in compliance with Guyana labor laws and company standards.
- Drive a high-performance, accountability-based culture across the organization.
- Oversee the full recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding process to ensure excellent employee and client experience.
- Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Supervise performance management processes, goal setting, and employee development initiatives.
- Plan and execute training and development programs to support employee growth and organizational capability.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all HR records, systems, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the HR point of contact for senior leadership, providing strategic input on workforce planning and organizational development.
- Represent EDO at professional and community events, reinforcing our employer brand.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or related field (MBA is an asset).
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ progressive HR experience, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment and labor laws in Guyana.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
