Position Summary
As a Utility Hand on the rig, you are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and hygiene across all designated areas, including living quarters, laundry facilities, and the scullery. This role supports the overall safety, efficiency, and comfort of the offshore environment through effective housekeeping and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping and General Cleaning
- Carry out routine cleaning of common areas, workspaces, and accommodation areas to ensure a clean and orderly environment.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces as required.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste in accordance with established procedures.
Laundry Operations
- Collect, sort, and process laundry for crew members in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operate laundry equipment, including washing machines and dryers, in line with company guidelines.
- Ensure all laundered items are properly cleaned, folded, and returned to crew members in good condition.
Scullery and Dishwashing Duties
- Operate dishwashing equipment and perform manual washing of dishes, utensils, and kitchenware as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the scullery area at all times.
- Ensure all kitchen items are cleaned, sanitized, and stored appropriately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in housekeeping, maintenance, or a similar role is an asset.
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of safety practices and adherence to offshore regulations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and operational needs.
