El Dorado Offshore (EDO) is hiring a Stakeholder & Industrial Relations Manager to lead proactive engagement with employees, unions, and community stakeholders. This role is essential in safeguarding operational continuity across our offshore projects, particularly where union activity and public perception can directly affect business outcomes.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills who can navigate complex employee dynamics and community relationships with authority and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all industrial relations efforts, including union engagements, collective discussions, and resolution of workforce disputes.
- Serve as the primary contact for all employee grievances and provide end-to-end resolution support.
- Design and implement structured grievance and feedback frameworks to support a transparent workplace culture.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 engagements with offshore crews to assess morale and flag emerging risks.
- Act as liaison between EDO and local community leaders to address concerns, manage expectations, and prevent social agitation.
- Coordinate monthly community meetings and provide timely follow-up to any stakeholder-raised concerns.
- Monitor and report on union sentiment, employee morale, and community perception through structured dashboards and surveys.
- Prepare and submit monthly Industrial Relations Briefs to internal leadership and key clients, highlighting proactive strategies and risk mitigation plans.
- Support crisis management efforts by de-escalating conflicts and preventing reputational or operational damage.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and the crisis communications team to ensure alignment in external messaging and compliance.
- Deliver monthly internal or client-facing training on the Trinidad & Tobago industrial relations landscape and unionization trends.
- Maintain a ready-to-deploy alternate workforce strategy to prevent disruptions due to industrial action.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, HR, Law, or related field (master’s degree is a plus)
- Certification in Mediation, Labour Law, or Conflict Resolution is preferred
- 7+ years of experience in industrial relations, union negotiations, or stakeholder management
- Deep understanding of Trinidad & Tobago’s industrial climate, union frameworks and community sensitivities
- Proven track record of managing high-risk IR situations with minimal disruption
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
