The Marine Superintendent is a crucial role responsible for overseeing the safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of the company’s vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to safety and regulatory standards, ensuring the smooth operation of our maritime fleet.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the operational and technical performance of vessels, ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct regular inspections and ensure vessels are fully operational, well-maintained, and safe for crew and cargo.
· Ensure incident investigations are conducted thoroughly, and lessons learned are incorporated into operations.
· Provide guidance and mentorship to ship captains, officers, and crew on operational, safety, and regulatory matters.
· Act as a liaison between the shore-based office and vessel crews to ensure smooth communication and operations.
· Monitor vessel performance metrics (e.g., fuel consumption, emissions, safety compliance) and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Must Have:
• STCW Reg. II/2 – Master Unlimited- Level Management, that meets the applicable standards of training certification and watchkeeping (STCW) requirements;
• Advanced training for oil tanker cargo operations
• Tanker Endorsement to a certificate of competency OR Dangerous Cargo Endorsement (DCE) certificate desirable but not mandatory
• Basic oil and chemical tanker cargo operations training
