Procurement Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to oversee the sourcing and acquisition of goods, services, and works in compliance with company policies, procedures, and the laws of Guyana. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and value for money in all procurement activities

Responsibilities

  • • Develop and execute procurement plans aligned with organizational goals.
    • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best price, quality, and delivery outcomes.
    • Prepare and issue RFQs, tenders, and proposals in line with procurement standards.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or contractual terms.
    • Work closely with internal teams to identify procurement needs and recommend effective purchasing strategies.
    • Prepare and present periodic procurement reports to management.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and supplier development.

Must Have

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience (experience in [specific industry/sector] would be an asset).
    • Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and applicable regulations.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
    • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and using procurement software/tools.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
