We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public and Government Affairs Advisor to join our growing team supporting operations in Guyana’s dynamic energy sector. This pivotal role will help shape strategic relationships with government entities, regulatory bodies, and local communities, ensuring smooth communication and alignment with national and corporate objectives.
Responsibilities
- • Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, regulators, and local stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze government policies, legislation, and regulations that may impact operations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the company and public/governmental institutions.
• Advise senior leadership on political and regulatory developments relevant to business interests.
• Support permit and license applications by ensuring regulatory compliance and timely submissions.
• Collaborate with internal departments (legal, operations, community relations) to align external affairs strategies.
• Represent the company at public hearings, industry forums, and community engagements.
Must Have
- • Bachelor’s degree in political science, Public Relations, Law, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or external relations, preferably within the energy or extractive sectors.
• Strong understanding of Guyana’s regulatory landscape and socio-political environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven track record in stakeholder management and advocacy.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex, sensitive matters with discretion.
