Quality Calibration Technician

Quality Calibration Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that equipment, instruments, and machinery used in various industries maintain accurate and consistent performance standards. Their main responsibility is to calibrate, test, and maintain these tools to meet the required specifications. This can be essential in industries like manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and engineering, where precision is critical

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the calibration maintenance of all gauges (internal, customer and license).

    · Maintain gauge storage according to laboratory best practice, work instruction and OEM specification.

    · Ensure measurement equipment operates accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs when required.

    · Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly.

    · Prepare calibration/verification reports and certificates.

    · Ensure gauges and calibration records are updated and easily accessible. Notify the Supervisor on upcoming external calibration requirements in a timely manner.

    · Assist in the development of calibration working instruction and best practice documentation.

    · Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and remove any that does not meet requirements from unintended use.

    · Monitor daily usage of ring and plug gauges and liaise with machinists to ensure form completion.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to ISO 9001:2015, API Q1, 7-1, 5CT, DS1 and all related codes and standards for license requirements.

    · Knowledge and Experience in Method Verification and Validation of measuring instruments.

    · Knowledge and Experience Internal & External Certified Calibration practices.

    · Knowledge and Experience in Threading and Gauging practice of Threaded Connections.

    · Experience in Generating and Verifying Quality Reports and Records

    · Must be computer literate.

    · Some knowledge of the oil & gas industry’s regulations and standards.

    · Analytical mindset and attention to detail is required.

Must Have

  • Minimum of 5 CSEC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.

    · Prefer some familiarity with ISO 17025:2017.

    · External certification in calibration methods may be considered an asset.

    · Six months to one year work experience.
