Senior Project Contract Manager

Georgetown, Guyana

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering & Contracts Manager to lead engineering coordination, contract administration, claims management and stakeholder engagement for large-scale EPC, EPC+F and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities, monitor technical submissions and approvals, identify and resolve project interface issues, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. The role will also support the preparation, evaluation and negotiation of claims relating to variations, delays, disruptions, extensions of time and additional costs.

This position requires a highly experienced professional with strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, leadership capability and the ability to work effectively with employers, consultants, engineers, contractors and international project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor engineering coordination among the Employer, Engineer/Consultant, designers, contractors and project teams.
  • Track and expedite the review and approval of drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions, RFIs and material approvals.
  • Identify engineering bottlenecks, design conflicts and interface issues, and coordinate their timely resolution.
  • Administer project contracts and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, procedures and timelines.
  • Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, submissions and supporting project records.
  • Identify potential claim events and ensure contemporaneous records and supporting evidence are maintained.
  • Prepare and support claims relating to variations, delays, disruptions, extensions of time, scope changes and additional costs.
  • Participate in claim negotiations, commercial discussions and dispute-resolution activities.
  • Act as the primary communication bridge among the Employer, Consultant, Contractor and project management teams.
  • Lead coordination meetings and follow up on technical, contractual and commercial action items.
  • Maintain effective communication across multicultural and international project environments.
  • Support project planning, progress monitoring, document control and reporting activities.

Must Have

  • Education
    Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following:
    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Construction Management
    Quantity Surveying
    A related engineering or construction discipline
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in large international EPC, EPC+F or major infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience in at least one of the following sectors:
    Hospitals
    Airports
    Roads and highways
    Industrial facilities
    Power projects
    Large public infrastructure developments.
  • Proven experience working with international consultants and engineers under FIDIC or similar contract forms.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration, engineering coordination and claims management.
  • Experience preparing claim submissions, supporting evidence packages and contractual correspondence.
  • Technical and Contractual Competencies

  • Multidisciplinary coordination drawings
    Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project execution processes and engineering interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    FIDIC contracts
    Contract administration
    Variation management
    Claims preparation
    Delay analysis
    Extension of Time claims
    Contractual notices and correspondence
    Software Skills
    Proficiency in:
    Microsoft Office
    Primavera P6
    Microsoft Project
    AutoCAD
  • Experience using electronic document-control or project-management systems is preferred.
