The HP Washer, Phosphating Technician is responsible for performing the phosphating process on high-performance washers and other metal components to ensure they meet quality and durability standards. This role involves operating and maintaining phosphating equipment, preparing materials for treatment, monitoring processes, and ensuring the proper finish and functionality of the washers

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Components: This may involve cleaning, degreasing, and surface preparation to ensure optimal adhesion of the phosphate coating.

  • Phosphating Process: They are responsible for the actual phosphating process, which involves immersing the components in a phosphating solution or applying the solution through spray or dip methods. 

  • Monitoring and Quality Control: Throughout the phosphating process, the technician monitors various parameters such as solution concentration, temperature, and immersion time to ensure consistent and high-quality coatings.

  • Maintenance of Equipment: Maintenance of the phosphating equipment is crucial to ensure its proper functioning and longevity. The technician is responsible for routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, calibrating, and replacing parts as needed to keep the equipment in optimal condition

  • Operating Equipment: They operate high-pressure washer equipment to clean various types of oilfield equipment such as drill pipes, casing, tubing, and other OTCG tools and components. This involves understanding the machinery, its settings, and safety protocols.

  • Inspecting Equipment: Before cleaning, they inspect the equipment for any damage, defects, or contaminants that could affect the cleaning process or the integrity of the equipment.

  • Applying Cleaning Agents: Depending on the type of contaminants present, they may apply cleaning agents or detergents to the equipment to facilitate the cleaning process. This may involve understanding different cleaning agents and their appropriate uses.

Must Have

  • · Minimum of 3+ CSEC passes.

  • · 2+ years’ previous experience as an HP washer
  • Knowledge of various nozzle types and their applications.

  • · Knowledge, experience and understanding of the chemical process of phosphating, including the types (zinc, manganese).
  • · Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemicals involved.
  • · Previous experience in high-pressure washer operation and equipment cleaning preferred.

  • · Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards and practices related to high-pressure washing and chemical handling
