We are seeking experienced Offshore Welders to join an offshore drilling rig operating in Guyana. The successful candidates will perform structural and pressure-related welding repairs, fabrication, maintenance, and installation activities while ensuring compliance with international offshore safety standards, client specifications, and quality requirements.
Candidates must possess valid 4G-6G welding qualifications together with DNV certification and have previous offshore experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding repairs and fabrication on offshore drilling equipment and structural components.
- Execute welding in accordance with approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and isometric drawings.
- Perform SMAW welding on carbon steel and alloy materials.
- Carry out structural welding on offshore equipment.
- Repair damaged piping, platforms and mechanical components.
- Complete welds in accordance with ASME, AWS and client specifications.
- Ensure all welds meet quality requirements prior to inspection.
Work safely at heights and in confined spaces. - Participate in toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permit to Work systems.
- Assist during planned maintenance, shutdowns and emergency repairs.
Maintain welding equipment in good working condition. - Ensure proper housekeeping within work areas.
- Report equipment defects and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Maintenance and Inspection teams.
- Support lifting operations when required.
- Comply with all HSE, client and company policies.
Must Have
- Minimum 5 years welding experience.
- Minimum 2 years offshore drilling rig, FPSO, offshore vessel or offshore construction experience.
- Experience working on:
Offshore drilling rigs
Jack-up rigs
Semi-submersibles
Drillships
Offshore platforms
FPSOs - Experience with:
Structural welding
Pipe welding
Equipment repairs
Shutdown projects
Maintenance welding - Mandatory Certifications:
Valid DNV Welder Certification (Mandatory). - 4G Welding or 6G Welding Qualification.
- ASME Section IX WPQ (preferred).
- Valid Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ).
- Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) knowledge.
