The Millwright is responsible for preforming highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain relevant equipment and machinery according to safety, predictive and production maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

·        Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain machinery and the facility’s equipment.

·        Perform repairs, removal, disassembly, inspections and re-installation of parts.

·        Perform onsite machining using milling machine. This includes but is not limited to setting up of machine, ensuring proper operation and successfully completing work as per the client specifications.

·        Performs drilling and tapping onsite using magnetic base drill.

·        Uses onsite flange facing machine to perform machining on flanges.

·        Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

·        Perform other machinist duties and responsibilities.

·        Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

·        Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

·        Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

·        Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

·        Use a variety of hand and power tools, measuring equipment – Vernier’s, micrometres, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

·        Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

·        Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

·        Other duties as necessary and related.

Qualifications

·        At least three to five years’ experience performing onsite technical machining.

·        Training and certification from a recognised institution (MIC, UTT, NESC)

·        Sound knowledge and use of measuring equipment – Vernier callipers and micrometres, ability to identify and aptly use relevant tools and equipment.

·        Communication – ability to interpret and explain requirements to supervisors, co-workers and customers. Obtain information and share information accordingly.

·        Ability to manoeuvre heavy equipment which may include positioning, installing, handling, moving materials and manipulating items.

·        Good judgment and decision-making skills, when considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one..
