The Guyanese EMGL Site Security Contact (Offshore) plays a crucial role in supporting the country's security program by conducting Security Program Reviews (SPR) in compliance with Global Security (GS) practices. Reporting to the Security Lead (Offshore), they verify and measure security programs through SPRs and drills, collaborating with various onshore and offshore entities. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution abilities, and effective contractor management. The SSC (Offshore) ensures adherence to GS standards, OIMS, and contractual obligations, maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor in all interactions. This rotational position, based in Georgetown, involves travel to diverse locations and vessels as needed for optimal duty execution..

Responsibilities

FMaintains the Security Department’s compliance with the requirements of the SSAP (Offshore).

1. Maintains the TTE Matrix (Offshore) in an ever-green state.

2. Provides effective business-appropriate liaison with internal parties, and when authorised with external parties including Contractors and HGSF (Coastguard).

3. Provides effective security-related support to affiliate emergency response planning, training activities and drills.

4. Crafts quality security presentations and security-related products when requested by the Security Lead (Offshore) to include security data and graphics.

5. Effectively uses ExpressSafe, IMPACT and EMConnect for reporting incidents, issues and gaps.

6. Displays advanced knowledge of the EMGL SharePoint site and how to access EMGL Security documents.

7. Ensures key security activities are completed on-time.

8. Provides effective supervision, leadership, mentorship, training, knowledge transferal, capacity development and task coordination of any subordinates.

Challenges

The role involves comprehensive participation in the design, implementation, validation, maintenance, and enhancement of the EMGL Security Program (Offshore). Key responsibilities include implementing and documenting the Site Security Activity Plan (SSAP) and Temporary Threat Escalation (TTE) Matrix, acting as the focal point for offshore operations, coordinating security support, participating in regulatory inspections, reviewing safety plans, and contributing to the ongoing development of security plans. The position also involves liaising with external security representatives, maintaining an effective offshore security program, staying updated on security technology, and ensuring regular communication with relevant stakeholders. Additional duties encompass participating in security-related meetings, monitoring remote site works, conducting inspections, and adhering to EMGL values and behavior framework. Furthermore, the role requires the completion of Security Incident Reports (SIRs) related to offshore operations in accordance with IIHL Part II.

Must Have

5 years of work experience in an offshore security role, or 10 years of progressively responsible experience in relevant commercial organizations.

·        Minimum 5 years of law enforcement, security, or military-related experience, including exposure to staff supervision, security program administration, crime prevention, and crisis management.

·        A degree in the Security field, Policing, Criminology, or Business Administration, or equivalent applicable experience with expertise in:

·        Asset management and protection

·        Security program management (Onshore & Offshore)

·        Security logistics

·        Knowledge of security legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures

·        Working knowledge of security systems and technologies

·        Project management

·        Criminal investigation

·        Criminal intelligence/national intelligence

·        Crisis/disaster planning and management

·        Risk appreciation/identification and reduction

·        Leadership and influence skills

·        Proven oral, written, and active-listening skills

·        Highly effective organizational, time management, and analytical skills.

·        Good working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·        ISPS Certified.
