The role of a Banksman is crucial in ensuring the safe movement and coordination of vehicles and equipment within construction sites, warehouses, or industrial environments. Banksman duties involve guiding vehicle operators, signaling movements, and maintaining clear communication to prevent accidents and ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

·       Directing the movement of vehicles and machinery, including cranes, forklifts, and trucks, within designated areas.

·       Providing clear hand signals or using radio communication to instruct vehicle operators on manoeuvring safely.

·       Assisting in the positioning of loads during lifting operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.

·       Monitoring and managing traffic flow to prevent congestion and maintain a safe working environment.

·       Conducting visual inspections of equipment and reporting any defects or hazards to the appropriate personnel.

    Education & Experience:

·       High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

·       Certification in Banksman operations or relevant training courses (e.g., Banksman Slinger Training).

·       Previous experience in a similar role within the construction, logistics, or industrial sectors is advantageous.

·       Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in vehicle and equipment operations.

·       Proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively convey instructions to vehicle operators.
