The Chief Mate is responsible for the safety and security of the ship, overseer the deck department, reports to the Master, operates on a seagoing ship and should also be able to operate accordingly with company procedures and any DP vessel. The Chief Mate is second in command to the Master and collaborates with them to successfully navigate and maintain the vessel. They will act as the Vessel Safety Officer, as defined by the company’s HSE procedures.
The successful candidate must possess the following:
· Valid Unlimited DPO License
· Valid Passport
· Experience as a Chief Mate
· Offshore Support Vessel or Platform Supply Vessel Certificate
· Certificate in First Aid/ Medical Care
· Valid HUET or BOSIET with CA-EBS
· Certificate of Character or receipt of same
· Other relevant certificates and/ training
