Forklift Operators are skilled professionals responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and retrieve materials in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
· Operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to load, unload, and transport materials and products within the facility.
· Safely maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces and congested areas, while adhering to established safety protocols and traffic rules.
· Inspecting and performing routine maintenance checks on forklifts to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
· Loading and unloading goods onto trucks or storage racks using forklift attachments, such as pallets, straps, or clamps.
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
· Certification or training in forklift operation from a recognized institution or employer.
· Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing setting is preferred.
· Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for forklift operation, including load capacity limits, stability factors, and proper handling techniques.
· Basic mathematical skills for performing inventory counts, calculating load weights, and interpreting work orders.
· Ability to read and understand written instructions, safety warnings, and labels on materials and products.
