Stevedores play a vital role in the maritime and shipping industry, responsible for loading and unloading cargo from ships in ports and terminals. Their primary focus is on ensuring the efficient and safe handling of goods, maintaining the integrity of cargo, and adhering to strict operational procedures.

Responsibilities:

·       Operating machinery such as cranes, forklifts, and conveyor systems to load and unload cargo from ships.

·       Securing cargo using appropriate techniques, such as lashing and strapping, to prevent shifting during transit.

·       Following safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or damage to personnel and cargo.

·       Communicating effectively with ship crews, port authorities, and team members to coordinate loading and unloading activities.

·       Inspecting cargo for damage or irregularities and reporting findings to supervisors or relevant personnel.

    Education & Experience:

·       High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

·       Previous experience in maritime operations, cargo handling, or related fields is advantageous.

·       Familiarity with port operations, shipping terminology, and cargo handling procedures.

·       Certification in relevant equipment operation (e.g., crane operation, forklift driving) may be required.

·       Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in maritime operations.
