Camp Boss

 We are seeking an experienced Camp Boss with a background in 5-star catering to manage and oversee all aspects of offshore catering operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership presence, ensuring the highest standards of food service, cleanliness, and staff management. Experience in the cruise line industry is highly desirable and will be considered a significant asset. This position is open to both local and expatriate candidates.


Responsibilities

  • Catering Management: Oversee the planning, preparation, and service of meals, ensuring that they meet 5-star standards for quality, presentation, and taste.

  • Staff Supervision: Manage a team of catering and hospitality staff, including chefs, kitchen assistants, and housekeeping personnel. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure a high level of service.

  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with chefs to design and implement nutritious and diverse menus that cater to the dietary needs of the offshore crew, taking into consideration any cultural or religious preferences.

  • Inventory and Supplies: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure that all food storage and preparation areas meet health and safety standards. Keep accurate records of stock and ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all catering operations comply with offshore health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and sanitation standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits.

  • Budget Management: Monitor and control catering budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on quality.

  • Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing any issues promptly and ensuring that the crew’s needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.

  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of supplies and manage any challenges related to offshore catering operations.

  • Crisis Management: Prepare and implement contingency plans for any potential disruptions in catering services, including food shortages, equipment failures, or staff issues.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Camp Boss or in a similar role within the offshore, hospitality, or cruise line industry.

  • Extensive experience in 5-star catering, with a strong understanding of high-end food preparation and service.

  • Cruise line experience is a significant asset.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging offshore environments.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Relevant offshore safety and survival training certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).

  • Food Safety and Hygiene certification.

Work Schedule:

  • Rotational offshore schedule, typically 28 days on/28 days off or as required by the project.
